A lawsuit against Tesla has been filed by a woman from Houston, after a frightening crash involving her Cybertruck. She claimed her vehicle malfunctioned while in self driving mode. On August 2023, this incident took place. According to the report she is left injured and has now led to a legal battle over alleged negligence and safety concerns.
As reported, the women is seeking for $1 million in damages. According to the claim made by her the vehicle attempted to drive off an overpass without warning while driver assistance system was active. Fresh attention has been surfaced by dashcam video, showcasing how the situation unfolded in real time.
Crash Caught on Camera Raises Safety Questions
As shown in the video, the Cybertruck is seen approaching a Y shaped overpass where it was expected to take a right turn. And in the video the vehicle continues to move straight and crashes into a concrete barrier. The impact appear severe, after the collision the debris from the vehicle has been seen scattering.

As mentioned by the lawyer of the woman, just moment before the crash, she tried to switch off the river assistance system and tried regain her control over the streering. But, by then, the vehicle has already picked up its pace, making it unavoidable to save herself from crash.
Women’s one year old child, who was seated in the back was thankfully not injured, even after how intense the accident was.

Lawsuit Alleges Negligence and Design Flaws
Multiple injuries has been suffered by the women after this incident which included shoulder damage, neck, and back. Medical reports suggest she experienced herniated discs, wrist sprain, and nerve-related issues in her hand, leading to numbness and weakness.
According to the report, it claims that Tesla misinterpreted the capabilities of tis driver assistance system and failed to include all the important safety measures. Further, it has been alleged that the contribution to the accident could also be the system design. It raises the concern about how features are not able to deal with the real world conditions.
This case has expected to bring renewed scrutiny on advanced driver assistance technologies and their safety, as how other automakers are continuing to develop and promote semi autonomous driving systems.
