For global markets Honda has officially unveiled the 2026 Monkey 125. The latest update has all the new visual changes, with colour option that all new that has been added to the lineup. The motorcycle continues to carry on with the same engine, chassis and the features seen in the older version, and there are no mechanical changes. With Euro 5+ emission norms the 2026 Monkey 125 remains compliant.

Background And Evolution

The story of the Honda Monkey began in year 1962, it was made with a small 49cc motorcycle for the Tama Tech amusement park in Tokyo. Due to its fame, Honda later got a road legal version that was exported to international markets.
With passing years, the Monkey evolved with wheel that were bigger and updated design. It became popular among recreational vehicle user, when in late 1970s it received a teardrop shaped fuel tank. With a modern 125cc Honda brought back the Monkey in 2018 inspired by the original design. Later few more new updates were added like five speed gearbox and cleaner emissions, both of which continues in the model of 2026.

All About the Engine, Chassis And Features
The all new 2026 Honda Monkey 125 is powered by a air cooled,124cc, single cylinder engine that produces 9.2 bhp at 6,750 rpm and 10.7 N, of torque at 5,500 rpm. It has claims to have a top speed of 91 km/h and pairs with a five speed gearbox.
ECU, catalyst converter, and additional extra OBD2-2 sensor has been updated by Honda, to meet Euro 5+ norms. The bike has been developed on a steel backbone frame and upside down front forks has been used and twin rear shock absorbers. It comes with the seat height of 776 mm and a kerb wright of 105 kg.
On both the wheels bike get the disc brakes with ABS and an IMU that helps co trim rear wheel lift during hard braking. It rides on 12 inch wheels with the tyre with block pattern. It has features like: A round LCD instrument cluster, full LED lighting, and a 5.6 litre fuel tank. There are few optional accessories which include a USB charger, rear, carrier, heated grips, gear indicators, immobiliser alarm.
