Why Indian Traffic Is A Tough Test

It can become a lot difficult for vehicle detection system to function on Indian roads, as traffic in India does not always follow clearly marked lanes. Without any clear warning vehicles often changes the lane, pedestrian can be seen crossing the roads at different points and motorcycle moving and overtaking through small gaps.

The best example for the kind of traffic Indian roads has is Gurugram. Vehicles: cars, bikes, trucks, auto rickshaws and public can all appear very close to each other and specially during the time of rains, it becomes to crowded and for a long stretch vehicles are too close to each other.

The screen in Tesla Model Y is designed to show the other vehicles and objects detected around the vehicle. The display quickly shows the different shapes when there are too many objects, vehicles and people nearby.

Many unusual scenes has led to several humorous comments too flood on social media. Many users tagged the company CEO Elon Musk, while many other joked that this the first “desi reality check” for the car. “Tesla hang hogya”, such comments has gone viral in the video comments.

Though, the busy screen should not be considered as a proof that the system of Tesla has stopped working. A high number of objects detected clearly shows that the vehicle is finely working and processing in a complex Indian road.
