New Taigun Facelift By Volkswagen To Break Cover April 9, Gets Premium Upgrades

The updated version of Volkswagen popular mid size SUV, the Volkswagen Taigun is all set get introduced in the Indian market on April 9, 2026. Noticeable updates, added features and some mechanical tweaks to keep the SUV competitive in a crowd segment in expected in the facelift.

 

According to the early spy images, the refreshed Taigun is excepted to get a sharper front design which is inspired by global models like the Volkswagen Tayron R Line. Slimmer LED headlamps connected by a light bar, along with an illuminated logo is likely to get featured by the SUV. There are chances of changes in the grille, bumpers, and tail lamps, giving the SUV a look which is more modern and premium.

Updated Cabin And New Features Expected

 

Volkswagen is expected to introduce new material and colour theme which will be refreshed to enhance the overall feel, inside the cabin. The list of features are also expected to see an upgrade, possibly including a larger touchscreen infotainment system, powered and ventilated front seats, digital driver display, and even an optional panoramic sunroof.

Engine Options To Continue With Minor Changes

 

The Taiwan facelift is expected to retain its current engine lineup, which is under the hood. This means 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine and a more powerful 1.5 litre turbo petrol unit. While the 1.5 litre engine is expected to continue with a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox, an automatic variant of 1.0 litre could get a new 8 speed transmission for smoother performance.

 

The details of the price is yet to be announced, but the updated model pricing is exited to be slightly more expensive than the current version. Once launched, the facelift of the Taiwan is expected to continue to rival popular SUVs in India, which aims to attract buyers with its refreshed design and improved features.
