With the growing panic triggered by the viral rumours and long queues at fuel station in some cities, clarification has been done by the government and state run oil companies that there is no shortage of diesel and petrol in India. Such claims has been called completely baseless by the companies like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, they are assuring that fuel supply chains across the country are on smooth run.

 

According to the reports, officials said that India has enough reserves of crude oil as well as refined fuels like petrol, diesel, and aviation turbine fuel. The network for distribution are dully active, ensuring uninterrupted supply nationwide despite growing global uncertainty due to tension in West Asia.

Oil Companies Assure Adequate Supply

 

In a similar way, this message has been echoed by Indian Corporation, they are also urging people keep calm and avoid panic by buying and storing the fuel. The company has said that the fuel is available at all its outlets across the country and they on to operations, to manage and meet the current demand without disruption.

 

Authorities are urging for people to stay calm and has warned that unnecessary hoarding could create pressure on local supply and lead to temporary shortages at specific locations. They have advised citizen to not rely on rumours spread on social media and to wait and rely on official updates.

 

Panic Buying Triggers Local Disruptions

 

Panic has been spread and reported across cities like Ahmedabad and Hyderabad, despite clear assurance, where long queues were seen outside petrol pumps. Due to sudden spikes in demand, in some areas, outlets ran out of fuel, leading to fuelling speculation.

 

People are worried due to the rising geopolitical tensions around key oil routed like the Strait of Hormuz. Though, officials have made it very clear that these developments have not affected domestic fuel supply of India.

 

The government continues to maintain that there is no need to worry, urging people to avoid panic driven decisions and trust verified information.
