According to the report, Mumbai’s much talked about and trending musical road on coastal stretch near Breach Candy will no longer play around the clock. The operation hours has been decided and restricted by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) after repeated complaints from nearby residents due to noise disturbance.
This unique stretch, which is part of the Dharamveer Swarajya Raksha Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road, has quickly gone viral on social media after its launch on February 12, 2026, by honourable Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The road now plays the poplar Indian song which was made showcasing how much India is respected by its citizen named “Jai Ho” from Slumdog Millionaire whenever any vehicle drives over it fast a steady speed.
Why The ‘Jai Ho’ Patch Was Restricted
Though this concept attracted a whole lot of attention from motorists and social media users, residents in the nearby area raised concerns about constant noise. The sound could be heard across multiple residential buildings, which led to discomfort, especially during the late evening and night hours.
BMC officials, after receiving constant complaints conducted a sound checks inside nearby homes. Although, the sound levels that was recorded were within a moderate range, but the civic body chose to prioritise residents comfort and take actions.

New Timings And What Changes Now
After the review, it was decided by the authorities that this musical patch will stay inactive without between 7PM and 11 AM. So, it means the “Jai Ho” feature will now function only during the daytime. Barrication has been arranged to control the access to the starch during the time of restrictions.
The music system has not been removed. During the allowed hours, drivers can still experience it during the allowed timings, ensuring the attraction remains part of the infrastructure of the city.
Residents have welcomed this move taken by the government, appreciating the quick response form authorities. This development is clearly highlighting the challenge of balancing innovative urban ideas with everyday comfort in areas that densely populated like Mumbai
