Officially, Tata Motors had announced the 2026 Tata Tiago and Tiago EV launch in India with updates in styling, new features, and refreshed interiors. The all new hatchback has been introduced with the price of Rs 4.69 lakh (ex showroom), while the 2026 Tata Tiago EV starting price is Rs 6.99 lakh (ex showroom).

Our Automobile expert, Akshay reviewed the 2026 Tata Tiago EV. According to him it is a practical choice for those who are looking to switch from fuel car to electric car without spending more than Rs 10 Lakh. This car is well suitable for city driving because of its compact dimensions. The electric powertrain provides the user with smooth acceleration and lower running costs when compared to petrol powered hatchback cars.

After taking the test drive, he appreciated the car during the time of review because of the modern features it provides to the buyers, everyday usability, and safety equipment. It offers six airbags, and  also offers the claimed range of up to 285 km, this type of range makes this car a suitable vehicle for regular city commutes.  He said “The actual and real time estimate also depends upon the driving condition and driving style”.

“The car comes with fast charging capability” said Akshay. The car has the capability to charge the car battery from 10% to 70% to 80% during the span of 35 to 40 minutes. “But yes, fast or slow charging all depends upon the suitable conditions” said Akshay. Tata offers the buyers with battery warranty up to eight years or 1.6 lakh, depending upon what comes first. This provides buyers an additional reassurance in terms of long term battery health and ownership.

Akshay also highlighted the features provided in the interiors. The interior offers 10.25 inch touchscreen along with 360 degree camera that makes driving more convenient, especially when it comes to driving in crowded city areas and tight spaces.

Akshay said “According to my experience of 6 years of reviewing cars, the Tata Tiago EV is very much economical to run on best roads”. After detailed research and review he said the running cost of 2026 Tata Tiago EV comes around Rs 0.70 to Rs 1.40 per kilometre. Charging capability also depends, whether you are charging it at home or at some public charging station that helps in fast charging.

Akshay also highlighted “Strongest quality when it comes to body, best for everyday use, and its compact body helps in having a quick response while driving on congested roads and suspension also gives a comfortable experience”. He said

“The car is very much easy to drive and handle on busy roads” said Smaran. He also told his Tiago is used daily for office commute and he sometimes takes his car for a long distance drive too.

He particularly likes its compact dimensions, as parking does not require much space. He also mentioned that the car handles hilly roads comfortably. His family members, including his wife and children, are equally happy with the purchase.

Tata motors has grabbed the perfect moment to launch the updated Tiago EV. The Vlogger said “The biggest revision is to the pricing” that makes it the most affordable EV in India.

He talked about the design “The whole front fascia is different, you get new bonnet, new fenders, new LED headlights, a new bumper, and a off grill”. He highlighted “The bumper looks a little too bland”. He mentioned the boot space which is 240 litre, which is pretty respectable for the car of this size. He tested the charging system, he talked about proving the claims made by Tata. He drove the car dull day and went to charging station to check whether the claim is correct or not. And he validated the claim, the 17% charging went to 90% in 40 mins, which is very close to what what Tata has claimed.
