A buyback option has been announced by Mahindra for those customers who ha purchased the first batch of the BE 6 Batman Edition, following strong backlash online. The problem started when the company released a second batch of the “limited run” model, which lead to the upsetting of the early buyer who had believed that the edition would remain exclusive
In August 2025 the Batman Edition was first launched with a limited allocation of 999 units, all of which was sold in just few minutes. However, after the first batch the second batch of 999 units was very unexpectedly introduced on March 6, 2026. A lot of criticism was caused by the existing owners, who felt exclusivity by buying the edition.
So, in response to it, Mahindra has offered a dull buyback for the first batch buyers who got unhappy with their purchase. The interested customers can easily contact their dealership to begin the process, as this offer is valid for just 30 days this has started from march 18.

Second Batch Triggers Concerns Over ‘Limited’ Tag
The cause of the trigger amongst the buyers was that the brand earlier claimed that the Batman Edition would be strictly limited model. Within the span of seven months the sudden release of another batch raised questions about that promise
Even after the backlash, the second batch also sold out very quickly, according to the reports within minutes, even though the price was about Rs 70,000 higher than the original. This situation showcases the strong demand for the model but also brought attention to customer expectations around limited editions.
The decision taken by the Mahindra to offer a buyback appears to be an attempt to address the concerns raised by the customer and to maintain their trust.

Batman Edition Remains Cosmetic Upgrade
It is largely a visual upgrade of BE 6 Batman over the standard model. It features a dark themed design inspired by the character of the Batman, which also includes special badges, decals, and styling elements both in the interior and exterior of the vehicle.

The specification remains unchanged, under the hood. On the Pack Three Variant the model is based on and it comes with a 79 kWh battery pack. It offers a claimed driving range of around 682 km and is powered by a rear mounted electric motor producing 286 hp and 380 Nm of torque.
While the performance remains identical to the standard version, the unique styling and branding have made it popular among buyers. With the buyback offer now in place, Mahindra’s main aim is to balance demand while addressing concerns from its early customers.
