Mahindra Vision S Test Mule Takes On Spiti’s Tough Roads With Ease: WATCH

The upcoming Mahindra Vision S test mule is continued to tested across some of the toughest terrains of India’s and the latest spy video from Spiti Valley has gone viral which has given another glimpse of model which is highly anticipated.  The videos shows the camouflaged SUV driving through the challenging and curvy mountain roads. It shows how company is testing the real drive condition of the car before it get launched officially.

 

Though in the video gone viral shows the vehicle has remained heavily covered, but the sight shared reveals several key design elements that very closely resembles the Mahindra Vision S test mule concept showcased earlier by Mahindra. The upright stance, the styling which looks rugged, and muscular proportions of the SUV clearly indicated that it is designed and developed as a capable off road vehicle.

Bold Design With Premium Features Expected

 

Despite the camouflage, the Vision S appears to feature rectangular LED headlamps, a wide front bumper and prominent vertical grille elements. Flared wheel arches, strong shoulder lines and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel further enhance its tough SUV character. Vertical tail lamps also seem to be part of the final production design, staying true to the original concept.

The upcoming SUV interior is expected to get a modern cabin along with a triple screen dashboard. It also gets steering wheel which is newly designed. All new premium features are also likely get equipped in it by Mahindra which includes automatic climate control, ventilated seats, wireless feature for charging phone, an electric parking brake, multiple drive mode and several advanced convenience features.

Electric Powertrain Could Be On The Cards

 

While officially, Mahindra has not revealed the powertrain. And the lates test vehicle does not appear to have visible exhaust pipes. This has led to many believe that the Vision S could be possibly running on electric powertrain during the time of testing.

 

On Mahindra’s new NU_IQ monocoque platform, this all new SUV will be built. It will be designed  to support petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric powertrains. Multiple variants introduction Is freely done with the help of this flexible architecture which depends on market demand.

 

The main aim to test the Vision S in such demanding conditions of Spiti Valley is to highlight Mahindra’s focus on durability and off road capability.  To test suspension performance, efficiency of battery and vehicle overall reliability, this location was perfect as it has high altitude road, steep climbing and rough surface, making it an ideal environment.

 

Though Mahindra has not announced its official launch timeline, such types of sighting suggest that the development is in steady progress.
